The Utilization Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for prospective review activities for home care. These activities include review of the OASIS and 485 to verify home care eligibility for reasonable and necessary services, home bound status and compliance with home health requirements and established policies under the supervision of the Director of Home Care Clinical Services

RN with minimum of two (2) years experience as a professional nurse. Additional two (2) years of home health provider or fiscal intermediary experience preferred. OASIS and ICD-9 Coding Certification are also preferred. Knowledge of federal regulations and state licensure requirements.

Consults with HCR Manor Care and Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice to define needs or problems, conducts studies and surveys to obtain data, and analyzes data to advise on or recommend solutions, utilizing knowledge of nursing practices. Provides recommendations for systems of nursing management and care delivery. Ensures compliance to local/state/federal regulations, CHAP standards and Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice policies.

This position will cover Northern Ohio and Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

The ideal RN will have current RN licensure with 3-5 years management experience in a home health agency. Travel is 90-95%.
